THREE YEAR OLD CHILD DIES IN FALL FROM AND DOG ATTACK YESTERDAY IN ELIZABETH

ELIZABETH, NJ.- On Thursday June 10, 2021, Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo, Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo, and Police Director Earl Graves announced, that authorities are investigating the death of a three year child who apparently fell from a window, and then attacked by dogs in the backyard area of the home.
Members of The Elizabeth Police Department responded to a home within the 400 Block of South 5th Street, shortly after 5:25 p.m. Wednesday June 9th and found the 3- year-old victim, who had sustained serious injuries. The child was immediately rushed to Trinitas Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 6:30 p.m.
An investigation led by members of The Union County Homicide Task Force, The Union County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and Prosecutions Unit, and The Union County Sheriff's Crime Scene, and assisted by members of The Elizabeth Police Department, revealed that the dogs, which belonged to the victims family, were in a fenced yard at the time of the incident. Representatives of a local animal control organization responded and secured the dogs, which were then transported to another location.
