A WOMAN IS CHARGED IN MAY 3rd FATAL SHOOTING IN JERSEY CITY

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- A 21-year-old Jersey City Woman has been charged with a fatal shooting on May 3, 2021, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
After a motor vehicle stop on Thursday, Shianne Payne-Nanton was arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder, in the shooting death of 23-year-old Emmanuel Garcia.
Payne-Nanton was also charged with First-Degree Attempted Murder, First-Degree Conspiracy To Commit Murder, Second-Degree Possession Of A Weapon specifically a firearm, For Unlawful Purpose, and Second-Degree Unlawful Possession Of A Weapon.
Emmanuel Garcia was found in the area of Princeton Avenue and Brown Place in Jersey City, at around 11:00 p.m., with gunshot wounds to his torso. He was later pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center.
Police recovered a gun at the scene, although they did not report if the gun had been used in the shooting. The Prosecutor did not give details to a motive for the shooting. According to a police reports, a witness reported hearing multiple shots.
The investigation is ongoing, and there may be additional arrests, according to Suarez. The Prosecutor credited The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and The Jersey City Police Department, for the investigation and subsequent arrest.
