HIALEAH, FLA.- A manhunt was underway in the Miami area early Sunday morning, after three gunmen opened fire on a crowd of people at a banquet hall, killing two and wounding about twenty-two others, according to reports.
At this time at least one of the wounded individuals was listed in critical condition, according to The Miami Herald.
Police initiated a search for a white Nissan Pathfinder, a reporter with WPLG-TV wrote on twitter.
The gunfire erupted at the El Mula Banquet Hall, in the Country Club Shopping Center in Hialeah. The wounded were transported to various hospitals either by fire rescue or personal vehicles, according to reporters.
The banquet hall was being used for a concert event when the pathfinder pulled up, three gunmen got out and began firing into the crowd. The gunmen fired over a hundred rounds, using rifles and handguns, according to the Herald.
" We believe this is a targeted act of gun violence," Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo " Freddy " Ramirez told reporters, " this is a despicable act of gun violence, a cowardly act."
No arrest have been made as of the time of this report, and police were asking the community for help, and were gathering surveillance footage in their search for evidence.
The shooting took place approximately 24-hours after one person was killed and six others injured in a drive-by shooting in the Wynwood area of Miami, the Miami Herald reported.
" It is very difficult to stop a small amount of individuals who want to go out there and commit murder, and it takes all of us to stop this," Ramirez told reporters. " We really have to put the work in this summer to keep our children and communities safe."
" This type of gun violence has to stop, Every weekend it's the same thing,"Ramirez stated during a early Sunday morning Press Conference.
Florida's Governor, Ron DeSantis commented on shooting on Twitter,
" We mourn the loss of the two victims and are praying for the recovery of the more than 20 people injured at El Mula Banquet Hall near Hialeah. We are working with local authorities to bring justice to the perpetrators, justice needs to be swift and severe!"
Camping World CEO and TV Personality, Marcus Lemonis, Tweeted that he would be offering a $100,000 reward " to help authorities in my hometown... arrest and convict the suspect/suspects."
Ramirez said that Police were grateful for the reward offer.
