A LACEY TOWNSHIP MAN FOUND AFTER MISSING FOR 48-HOURS

LANOKA HARBOR, NJ.- A 73- year- old Lacey Township man that had been missing for two days was found by searchers in several inches of water in a wooded marshland near his New Jersey home. He was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation, according to authorities.
The Lacey Township man who has Parkinson's disease, and who has been suffering with Dementia, was reported missing at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday May 29th, after walking away from his residence on Thursday May 27th, around noon, The Asbury Park Press first reported.
Chief Michael DiBella of The Lacey Township Police Department, said Officers checked places the man was known to frequent, but as the weather deteriorated officers stepped up their efforts, and expanded the search to include a section of The Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, located near his home.
Lacey Township Officers were joined in the search by officers from The Ocean County Sheriff's Department, and K-9 units from the Sheriff's Department, Fire Department Officials from The Lanoka Harbor Fire Department aided in the search.
Chief DiBella said, officials used off-road utility vehicles in locating the man, who was found at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, in a low lying wooded marsh area.
The man was " lying on his back in several inches of water and was unable to move," but was conscious and able to speak with resecurers, DiBella reported. He was rescued from the marsh area, and brought out of the National Park, officers equipped with off-road utility vehicles. The 73-year-old man was the transported to the hospital for further medical evaluation.
