Finally Murphy Lifts Mandates

" Many Businesses May Still Require Masks, Some People Might Still Wear Masks."

May 25, 2021 By Art Fletcher & Leonard Madison, Reporting For : Englebrook Independent News,

NEW JERSEY- During Yesterday's Covid-19 briefing, Governor Phil Murphy announced he would be lifting indoor mask mandates, and relaxing social distancing restrictions throughout the state.

Saying the state has made " tremendous progress " vaccinated residents and stopping the coronavirus. Governor Murphy further announced that the lifting of restrictions would begin this Friday, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend and the summer season kickoff.

The Governor insisted politics had nothing to do with his decision, he had come under pointed criticism after not immediately following new Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, that fully vaccinated residents could safely gather without masks in indoor settings.

Unvaccinated residents are still being encouraged strongly to wear their masks in indoor settings, though the state won't be checking for vaccination status. Starting June 4th, the state will lift all indoor capacity limits and restrictions.

Although, Murphy lifted the restrictions, he stated that he was leaving up to individual businesses owners with their decision if they would still require indoor mask requirements.

Some New Jersey residents are still cautious, if unvaccinated residents would still wear their masks.
