Three Bronx New York Men Charged For The January 12, 2024, Teaneck Armed Home Invasion And Kidnapping

TEANECK, NJ.- Following a months-long investigation, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, three Bronx, New York men were apprehended by Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and the Teaneck Police Department with the assistance of the New York City Police Department in connection with a January 12, 2024, armed home invasion in Teaneck, New Jersey.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Friday, January 12, 2024, at around 3:00 p.m., members of the Teaneck Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an armed home invasion that had just occurred at a Tryon Avenue residence in Teaneck.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that beginning at just around 10:30 a.m., two adult victims were restrained with zip ties inside the residence by three men wearing masks and armed with handguns. During the next few hours, two more adult victims arrived at the residence and were also restrained at gunpoint by the men. 

     During the hours of captivity, one of the victims was attacked with a hammer and assaulted. The three men also threatened to torture and kill one of the victim's two minor children if they did not turn over money. During the incident, the three men ransacked the residence, punching holes in the walls, ripped apart couches, destroyed furniture, and pulled vents and cabinets from the walls in an attempt to locate money inside the home.

     Once the men left the house, one of the victims was able to free themselves and notify police.

     Following the initial response, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigation Squad was notified and a joint investigation ensued with Detectives of the Teaneck Police Department. During the months-long and extensive investigation, Detectives were able to identify two suspect vehicles that were involved in the home invasion. The investigation also uncovered that a GPS tracking device was placed on one of the victims' vehicles, by the men. 

     At the conclusion of the investigation, Detectives were able to identify Frank A. Salcedo, 43, Francisco Sandoval, 42, and Brian Arias, 40, all from New York as the individuals responsible for committing the armed home invasion and the attack on the victims.

     Accordingly, on Monday, July 1, 2024, Salcedo was formally charged with four counts of first-degree Kidnapping; first-degree Armed Robbery; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; two counts of third-degree Aggravated Assault; and second-degree Armed Burglary.

     On Monday, July 1, 2024, Sandoval was formally charged with four counts of first-degree Kidnapping; first-degree Armed Robbery; second-degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; two counts of third-degree Aggravated Assault; and second-degree Armed Burglary.

     On Monday, July 1, 2024, Arias was formally charged with four counts of first-degree Kidnapping; first-degree Armed Robbery; second-degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; two counts of third-degree Aggravated Assault; and second-degree Armed Burglary.

     On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, Detectives located all three men in the Bronx, New York, and with the assistance of the New York City Police Department took all three men into custody. Following being arrested the three were remanded to the New York City Department of Corrections pending extradition to New Jersey.
