30-Year-Old Wallington Man Wanted On Charges From March 2024, Arrested On Tuesday In New Criminal Case

WALLINGTON, NJ.- On Tuesday, a 30-year-old Wallington, New Jersey wanted on charges in connection with a March 2024 assault investigation was taken into custody and jailed following an investigation into narcotics distribution in the Wallington, New Jersey area.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, in June 2024, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force received information about alleged narcotics distribution activity at a Wallington, New Jersey residence. An investigation was initiated.
On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, following a weeks-long investigation by members of the Bergen County Narcotics Task Force and the Wallington Police Department, Detectives executed a court-authorized search warrant at the residence of Dushawn Kearney-Hillard, 30, of Wallington, New Jersey.
During the search, Detectives located and seized narcotics and a firearm from inside the residence. Following the search Kearney-Hillard was taken into custody without incident.
Accordingly, Kearney-Hillard was formally charged with second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm; third-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine; and third-degree Distribution of Oxycodone.
Following Kearney-Hillard's arrest, Detectives learned that he was wanted in connection with an incident that occurred on March 23, 2024, at a business on Main Street in Wallington. In that investigation, Kearney-Hillard was charged on March 26, 2024, with third-degree Possession of a Weapon; third-degree Terroristic Threats; and third-degree Aggravated Assault.
Kearney-Hillard was processed on the charges in both cases and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
