35-Year-Old Manchester Man Wanted In Shooting Death Has Barricaded Himself In A Toms River Residence

TOMS RIVER, NJ.- The Ocean County Sheriff's Office has reported that a standoff is underway at this time in Toms River, New Jersey between Police and a man wanted in last week's shooting death in Manchester Township.
According to authorities, the suspect has barricaded himself inside a Ravenwood Drive residence. Police Officials have reported that shots were fired at Police Officers.
Maxwell Johnston, 35, of Manchester Township is wanted in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old Gabriella Caroleo of Seaside Heights, New Jersey, that occurred on June 27, 2024, in Manchester Township. The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office issued a warrant for Johnston's arrest on July 3, 2024.
