FAIRVIEW, NJ.- Yesterday, following the continuing investigation into the alleged attack and attempted sexual assault of a preteen by Julio Amaro-Vasquez, 33, of Ridgefield, New Jersey his 30-year-old girlfriend was taken into custody and charged in connection with coercing two children to lie to police about the circumstances surrounding Monday's attack on the child.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Monday, June 10, 2024, the Fairview Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit regarding a child under the age of thirteen who was allegedly attacked in Fairview, New Jersey.
An investigation by Detectives of the Bergen County Special Victims Unit and the Fairview Police Department resulted in the arrest of Julio Amaro-Vasquez, 33, of Ridgefield, New Jersey.
Further investigation into the attack and following Detectives interviewing the two children, Detectives determined that Marlin Cervantes-Santos, 30, of Fairview, New Jersey, who is the girlfriend of Amaro-Vasquez, directed the two children to provide false information to Detectives during the investigation.

Cervantes-Santos was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
