Burlington County Authorities Are Investigating Yesterday's Drowning Death Of 6-Year-Old Boy At Day Camp

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ.- Burlington County Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding yesterday's drowning death of a 6-year-old boy at Liberty Lakes Day Camp on Florence Columbus Road in Mansfield Township, New Jersey.
According to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw, on Monday, June 24, 2024, at just before 2:00 p.m., Liberty Lakes Day Camp Staff found the boy unresponsive in the camp's swimming pool. The boy was pulled from the pool by a lifeguard.
Life-saving measures were performed by camp staff members, and the child was transported by first responders to Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly, New Jersey where the child tragically succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.
An autopsy will be performed by the Burlington County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause and manner of death.
The investigation remains active and ongoing and is being conducted by Detectives of the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office and the Mansfield Township Police Department.
