Morristown Man Was Charged On Tuesday For Threatening And Assaulting A Man

MORRISTOWN, NJ.- Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon reported, that on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, members of the Morris County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division charged a Morristown, New Jersey man with assaulting a man following an altercation on Patriots Path in Morristown.
According to authorities, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, just shortly before 2:30 a.m., members of the Sheriff's Patrol Division were notified that an injured man was allegedly threatened and assaulted following an argument on Patriots Path a walkway just off Martin Luther King Avenue in Morristown.
Sheriff's Officers were advised by the victim that the man who assaulted him was still in the area and provided a detailed description of the suspect. The victim was subsequently transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment.
A search of the area by Sheriff's Officers and Morristown Police Officers were able to locate the suspect, identified as Ricardo Martinez-Bonilla sleeping on the trail. Following being questioned, Martinez-Bonilla was taken into custody and formally charged with Aggravated Assault with Causing Serious Bodily Injury; Terroristic Threats; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
Following being processed on the charges Martinez-Bonilla was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Morris County Superior Court.
