33-Year-Old Hackensack Man Charged With Child Endangerment And Sexual Contact For Touching Sleeping Child

HACKENSACK, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported, that following an investigation a 33-year-old Hackensack, New Jersey man was taken into custody and charged with inappropriately touching a child while she slept at a family member's home.
On Sunday, May 12, 2024, the Hackensack Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit after members of the Police Department received a report regarding the alleged sexual contact of a child, that was reported to have occurred while the child was visiting family members.
An investigation was launched into the allegation. Following the investigation, Detectives determined that Diego Buri-Mora, 33, of Hackensack, New Jersey, had inappropriately touched the child while the child was sleeping in a family member's home.
Accordingly, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, Buri-Mora was arrested at the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and was formally charged with one count of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and fourth-degree Criminal Sexual Contact.
Buri-Mora was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
"The rules of the court requires us to include a statement, that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt."
