48-Year-Old Butler, New Jersey Man Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

BUTLER, NJ.- Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll reported, that following an investigation, a 48-year-old Butler man who is the former owner of the now-shuttered Morley's Magic Theater was taken into custody and charged with a child pornography offense.
Scott Morley, 48, of Butler, New Jersey was formally charged on May 15, 2024, with one count of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
The arrest and charge is a result of an investigation that unfolded when the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip an anonymous tip that Morley was allegedly in possession of child pornography. Following the execution of a court-authorized search warrant on Morley's electronic devices, Detectives uncovered digital images of child sexual abuse material on Morley's computer.
Accordingly, on May 15, 2024, Morley was taken into custody and charged. Following a first appearance in Morris County Superior Court, Morley was released on pretrial monitoring with conditions that he has no unsupervised contact with minors under 18 and no unsupervised use of the internet.
"The rules of the court requires us to include a statement, that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt."
