TRENTON, NJ.- Following a two-month investigation into cocaine distribution in the Trenton, New Jersey area, on Monday, April 29, 2024, a 48-year-old Bristol, Pennsylvania man, and a 56-year-old man were taken into custody and charged with multiple narcotics offenses.

According to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri, on Monday, members of the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, with assistance from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, and the Ewing, Hamilton, and Trenton Police Departments, located Dayron Vaughn, 48, of Bristol, Pennsylvania operating a motorcycle within the 400 Block West Hanover Street in the City of Trenton.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., Law Enforcement conducted a motor vehicle stop on Vaughn and he was found to be in possession of just around 10 grams of powder cocaine.

As Vaughn was being taken into custody, members of the Mercer County Tactical Response Team assisted Detectives of the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force in executing a court-authorized search warrant at a residence in the 1300 Block of Edgewood Avenue in the City of Trenton, that was tied to the investigation.

Upon entry into the residence, Detectives found a large amount of powder cocaine inside a black safe and a significant amount of drug paraphernalia, including digital scales and packaging material, in the basement. Resident Barry Coles, 58, of Trenton was present during the execution of the search warrant and was taken into custody without incident. Prosecutor Onofri estimated the street value of the 700 grams of cocaine seized to be just around $70,000.

following being taken into custody, both Vaughn and Coles were charged with multiple first-degree narcotics offenses, including maintaining a drug manufacturing facility.

After being processed on the charges Vaughn and Coles were remanded to the Mercer County Correction Center pending future court proceedings in Mercer County Superior Court in Trenton, New Jersey.

"The rules of the court requires us to include a statement, that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendants and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt."
