Man Charged With Human Trafficking & Sexual Assault Of Teen Girl

24-Year-Old North Bergen Man Was Arrested On Friday On Multiple Sex Crimes On 13-Year-Old Girl

NORTH BERGEN, NJ.- Following a swift-moving investigation by Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit, on Friday, a 24-year-old North Bergen, New Jersey man was taken into custody and charged with multiple sex crimes, one week after he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in a North Bergen Motel.


     According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Henry Sunun Sutuj, 24, of North Bergen was formally charged on Friday, April 26, 2024, with first-degree Human Trafficking; two counts of first-degree Promoting Child Prostitution; second-degree Engaging in Prostitution with a Minor; four counts of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; second-degree Sexual Assault; and fourth-degree Criminal Sexual Contact;



     Sunun Sutuj was arrested on Friday at his residence in North Bergen, New Jersey, by Detectives of the Hudson County Special Victims Unit with assistance from the North Bergen Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service New York/ New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. 


     Following being processed on the charges Sunun Sutuj was remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Hudson County Superior Court in Jersey City, New Jersey.


     The charges stem from an investigation that began on Saturday, April 20, 2024, when the West New York Police Department was notified of a sexual assault involving a 13-year-old girl. During the investigation, it was determined the girl recently met Sunun Sutuj at a park in North Bergen. On Friday, April 19, 2024, Sunun Sutuj offered the girl money in exchange for sexual acts and arranged transportation for the girl to meet him at a North Bergen Motel where he sexually assaulted her.


"The rules of the court requires us to include a statement, that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt."
