TOMS RIVER, NJ.- On Friday, April 19, 2024, an Ocean County Superior Court Judge sentenced Pedro Reyes-Sevilla, 32, of Kenilworth, New Jersey to ten years in New Jersey State Prison for the possession with the intent to distribute cocaine in connection with a 2021 two county narcotics investigation.

The sentence stems from an investigation that unfolded during a two-week-long period, when in January 2021, Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force and the Union County observed Reyes-Sevilla travel from Elizabeth, New Jersey to Lakewood, New Jersey. Based on information received, on January 27, 2021, Detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop in Lakewood.

Shortly after being stopped, Reyes-Sevilla consented to a search of his motor vehicle at which time Detectives found one kilogram of cocaine inside his car. Reyes-Sevilla was taken into custody and charged. Following being processed on the charges, Reyes-Sevilla was released pending future court proceedings in Ocean County Superior Court. On February 16, 2024, Reyes-Sevilla during a court hearing pleaded guilty to one count of Possession of More than Five Ounces of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute in connection with the January 27, 2021 arrest.

On December 1, 2022, Reyes-Sevilla was once again arrested on unrelated charges and is currently serving a New Jersey State Prison Term on those charges.
