PASSAIC COUNTY AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING A BODY THAT WAS FOUND IN A BURNING ABANDONED BUILDING

PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County Authorities are continuing their investigation into The Cause and Manner of Death of an Individual found dead Early Thursday Morning inside a Burning Abandoned Building in Paterson, New Jersey.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at around 3:30 a.m., Members of The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Investigations Unit were notified of a Possible Fatality in an Abandoned Building that was on Fire in the area of Franklin and Mercer Streets in The City of Paterson.
Upon Extinguishing a Structure Fire at 69 Mercer Street, Fire Personnel located The Body of a Deceased Individual on The Second Floor of The House. The Identity of The Individual has not been Confirmed and the cause and manner of Death are pending an investigation by The Medical Examiner's Office.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information may become available once released by Passaic County Authorities.
