Orange, New Jersey Man Sentenced To Prison For 2021 Fatal Assault

29-YEAR-OLD ORANGE MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR RUNNING DOWN A MAN IN ELIZABETH IN 2021

     "Kareem Allen Was Sentenced To 13 Years In New Jersey State Prison For The April 2021 Fatal Assault That Killed A 30-Year-Old Newark Man."

ELIZABETH, NJ.- According to Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, on Friday, March 8, 2024, a 29-Year-Old Orange, New Jersey man was Sentenced to a Term of Thirteen Years in New Jersey State Prison for The April 3, 2021, Fatal Assault of Malcom Webb, 30, of Newark, New Jersey that occurred in an Elizabeth Restaurant Parking Lot.



     On March 8, 2024, The Honorable Thomas K. Isenhour Sentenced Kareem Allen, 29, of Orange, New Jersey to 13 Years in State Prison on The Charge of First Degree Aggravated Manslaughter. The Sentence was Subject to The No Early Release Act which will require Allen to Serve Eighty-Five Percent of his Custodial Term before becoming Eligible for Parole. Allen had Plead Guilty to The Charge back on January 23, 2024.


     According to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Jillian Reyes, during the early morning hours of April 3, 2021, Members of The Elizabeth Police Department to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an altercation on Dickinson Street in The City of Elizabeth. Upon arrival, Police Officers located Mr. Webb, who had suffered Serious Injuries.


     A Subsequent Investigation revealed following a Verbal Altercation in a Local Elizabeth Restaurant, Allen, Mr. Webb, and others exited The Restaurant. Allen entered his Motor Vehicle and Deliberately Struck Webb before Fleeing the Scene. Mr. Webb sustained Deadly Injuries as a Result of being Struck by Allen's Vehicle.


     "We are grateful for the hard work of Assistant Prosecutor Jillian Reyes, Homicide Task Force Detective Angela Concepcion and Sergeant Lamar Hartsfield, and officers of The Elizabeth Police Department on this case," said Union County Prosecutor Daniel. "The Union County Prosecutor's Prosecutor's Office, together with law enforcement agencies throughout Union County, are committed to ensuring that those who commit such egregious acts are held accountable. Our thoughts remain with Mr. Webb's family and friends during this time."
