Two Bronx, New York Men Charged In December 2023 Motorcycle Drive-By Shooting

FORT LEE, NJ.- On Thursday, Two Bronx, New York Men were Taken into Custody and Charged in connection with a December 8, 2023, Brazen Late Afternoon Shooting of an Unoccupied Motor Vehicle in Fort Lee, New Jersey.


     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Friday, December 8, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., Members of The Fort Lee Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Possible Shooting on Bridle Way in Fort Lee. 


     Upon arrival, Police Officers and Detectives of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigations Squad located a Motor Vehicle that was Damaged by Multiple Gunshots. A Joint Investigation ensued, and it was determined that Two Unknown Suspects wearing dark-colored clothing arrived outside the victim's residence on a Motorcycle, pulled out a Firearm, and Opened Fire on the victim's Unoccupied Motor Vehicle then The Two Fled the Scene. Detectives with the assistance of The Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Investigation, recovered Gunshot evidence from the scene.


     A Two-Month-Long Investigation determined that Luis Villao-Haro, 24, and Abdul Jimenez-Vera, 22, both of The Bronx, New York, were the individuals responsible for the Shooting. On Thursday, February 22, 2024, Detectives of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and The Fort Lee Police Department Arrested Villao-Haro and Jimenez-Vera at their Bronx, New York residence with the assistance of The Federal Bureau of Investigations New York Safe Streets Task Force and The New York City Police Department.


     Accordingly, Villao-Haro and Jimenez-Vera were each Charged with Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Third Degree Criminal Mischief.


     Both Villao-Haro and Jimenez-Vera were both lodged with The New York City Department of Corrections pending an Extradition Hearing and their return to Bergen County, New Jersey to stand trial on the Charges.
