BREAKING: Essex County Authorities Seek Public's Assistance In Identifying Abandoned Baby

DETECTIVES ARE ASKING FOR THE PUBLIC'S HELP IN IDENTIFYING A BABY BOY WHO WAS FOUND DEAD 37 YEARS AGO

     " Authorities Are Continuing The Investigation Into The Discovery Of  A Deceased Baby Boy, Whose Body Was Found In A Basket In South Orange."

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ.- Tomorrow as many Gather with Family and Friends to Celebrate Thanksgiving Day, Detectives of The Essex County Homicide Task Force continue their tireless investigation into the Horrific Discovery of a Newborn Baby Boy who was found the Day After Thanksgiving deceased inside a Basket atop a Trash Can at an Apartment Building in The Small Community of South Orange, New Jersey, Thirty-Seven Years Ago.



     According to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, on The Morning of November 28, 1986, Sanitation Workers found The Body of a Baby Boy atop a Trash Can behind an Apartment Building located at 5 Cottage Street in South Orange, New Jersey. 



     The Body of the Newborn Baby Boy was wrapped in a Towel and a Yellow Table Runner and Placed in a Wicker Basket, which was left on the Trash Can. The Caucasian Boy weighed Five Pounds and still had his Umbilical Cord. 


     For the Past 37-Years Detectives have worked tirelessly, and intend to use DNA Evidence and Genetic Databases to Identify the Parents or Relatives of the Baby Boy, but they ask The Public's Assistance in Solving this Case. The Pictures in this publication are of The Towel, Table Runner, and The Wicker Basket. Investigators believe that the Basket may have been purchased from a local store.
