BREAKING: Caldwell, New Jersey Fatal Pedestrian Collision Investigation

68-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS STRUCK AND KILLED BY A CAR EARLY SUNDAY EVENING

     "Essex County Authorities Are Continuing To Investigate The Circumstances Surrounding A Fatal Pedestrian Collision In Caldwell."

CALDWELL, NJ.- A 68-Year-Old man Tragically lost his Life Early Sunday Evening after he was Struck and Killed by a Motor Vehicle as he Crossed Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell, New Jersey.


     According to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at approximately 6:33 p.m., Members of The Caldwell Police Department responded to The 300 Block of Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell after receiving a 911 Emergency Call reporting that a Pedestrian had been Struck by a Motor Vehicle.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found the Pedestrian, Gregory Katz, 68, suffering from Life-Threatening Injuries. Mr. Katz was immediately transported to Saint Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased around 7:30 p.m. The Driver of the Motor Vehicle remained at the scene.
