NEWARK, NJ.- The Essex County Homicide Task Force and The Newark Police Department are actively investigating The Shooting Deaths of Two Newark, New Jersey Men who Tragically Lost Their Lives last night in Two Separate Shootings, just three hours apart.
According to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 7:27 p.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Shooting on The 100 Block of Dayton Street in Newark. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Rahim Wynn, 41, of Newark, New Jersey, suffering from Multiple Gunshot Wounds. Mr. Wynn was immediately transported to University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 11:42 p.m.
Then again at 10:04 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, Members of The Newark Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Shooting on 700 Block of South Orange Avenue in Newark. Upon arrival, Police Officers a man, later identified as Kevin E. Brown, 61, of Newark, New Jersey suffering from a Gunshot Wound. Mr. Brown was immediately transported to University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
