KEYPORT, NJ.- Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago reported that Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a Fatal Accident that Killed a Woman early Saturday Morning on Route 36 in Keyport, New Jersey.
On Saturday, August 19, 2023, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Members of The Keyport Police Department responded to the area of Route 36 and Atlantic Street in Keport on a report of a person being Struck by a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival, Police Officers found an Adult Woman who had been Struck by a Motor Vehicle.
The woman whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin was immediately transported to Bayshore Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased around 2:15 a.m.
The Driver of the vehicle that struck the woman remained at the scene. The investigation remains active and ongoing. anyone with information or who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Detective Kristian DeVito at 800-533-7443.
