JERSEY CITY MAN STANDS CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER HIS VICTIM DIES FROM INJURIES HE SUSTAINED

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Yesterday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that Members of The Hudson County Homicide Unit Arrested a 26-Year-Old Jersey City, New Jersey man after a 55-Year-Old Gas Station Attendant Died as a direct result of injuries he sustained during a Jersey City Assault in 2022.
Nixon Marquez, 26, of Jersey City, New Jersey is Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder. Mr. Marquez was Arrested yesterday at The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus, New Jersey, Marquez was Processed on the Charges and Remanded to The Hudson County Correctional Facility, pending his First Appearance in Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court.
On Sunday, August 21, 2022, at approximately 2:48 a.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to the Shell Gas Station located on the corner of Marin Boulevard and 14th Street on multiple reports of an Assault that had occurred. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Fardin Ghadamidaroukola, 55, of Jersey City who had sustained serious Head Injuries.
Mr. Ghadamidaroukola was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. On Monday, May 15, 2023, The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office was notified that Mr. Ghadamidaroukola Died at a Washington D.C. Hospital on Saturday, May 13, 2023. The Office of The Chief Medical Examiner the Cause of the Death to be Complications Due to Blunt Force Trauma, and The Manner of Death to be Homicide.
Mr. Marquez had been previously Charged with Aggravated Assault and Weapons Offenses shortly after the 2022 Assault. The Charges were Upgraded following the Report of The Office of Chief Medical Examiner.
