BAYONNE, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that Members of The Hudson County Homicide Unit in conjunction with Detectives of The Bayonne Police Department are investigating the Fatal Shooting of a 27-Year-Old Woman that occurred last night inside her apartment.
On Monday, June 12, 2023, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Members of The Bayonne Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Shooting had occurred inside an Apartment located at 331 Avenue E in Bayonne, New Jersey.
Upon arrival, Police Officers entered the Apartment and found a Woman, later identified as Keyanna Brown, 27, of Bayonne, Unresponsive from Multiple Gunshot Wounds to her Upper Body. Ms. Brown was pronounced deceased at the scene at 12:00 a.m. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending findings of The Hudson County Regional Medical Examiner.
Ms. Brown's Father, Errol Brown, 52, of Bayonne, New Jersey was taken into Custody and Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; and Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. Mr. Brown was Processed on the Charges and is currently being Detained in The Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his First Appearance and Potential Detention Hearing.
