North Bergen Couple Charged

NORTH BERGEN COUPLE CHARGED WITH BILKING A UNION CITY BUSINESS OF OVER $300,000.

     " Angelica Morales-Fuentes & Hector Ortiz Have Been Charged With Second Degree Theft Offenses."

UNION CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, a North Bergen, New Jersey Man, and Woman were Arrested and Charged in connection with the Theft of over $300,000. from Union City, New Jersey Business.


     Angelica Morales-Fuentes, 30, and Hector Ortiz, 39, both of North Bergen, New Jersey, were both Charged with Second Degree Theft by Deception; and Second Degree Conspiracy. Mr. Ortiz was Additionally Charged with One Count of Second Degree Criminal Computer Activity.


     The investigation uncovered that Ms. Morales-Fuentes accessed the Payroll System of a Union City Based Staffing Company. Ms. Morales-Fuentes then Created Multiple Fake Employee Accounts and Diverted Wages into a Joint Bank Account she shared with Mr. Ortiz. The Two Stole approximately $349, 000. between August 2019 and November 2022 from the Business.


     Ms. Morales-Fuentes and Mr. Ortiz were Arrested at The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Jersey City, The Two were Processed on The Charges and released on a Summons pending their First Court Appearances.
