NEWARK MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH USING ANOTHER PERSON'S IDENTITY

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that On Monday, May 22, 2023, Members of The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigations Unit Arrested a 47-Year-Old Newark, New Jersey man on Charges in connection to the use of another person's Identification Information to obtain a Driver's License from The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission's North Bergen, New Jersey Office.
Williams Morocho-Avila, 47, of Newark, was arrested without incident at The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus, New Jersey, and formally Charged with One Count of Second Degree Using the Personal Identification of Another; and One Count of Third Degree Tampering with Public Records or Information. Mr. Morocho-Avila was Processed on the Charges and released on a Summons Complaint and has been scheduled for his First Appearance on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in Central Judicial Processing Court.
On December 13, 2022, Mr. Morocho-Avila a Non-Driver Identification Card and Basic Examination Permit at The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission's South Plainfield, New Jersey Office. An investigation by The Motor Vehicle Commission revealed that on November 13, 2021, a Driver's License was obtained by Mr. Morocho-Avila at The North Bergen Motor Vehicle Commission's Office under a different name.
