NEWARK, NJ.- The Essex County Homicide Task Force is continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Fatal Stabbing of a 52-Year-Old Newark man that occurred on Friday Night on South Orange Avenue in Newark, according to The Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

     On Friday, March 17, 2023, at approximately 8:29 p.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to The 800 Block of South Orange Avenue in Newark, on a report of a Stabbing.

     Upon arrival, Police Officer found a man, later identified as Sharod Gully, 52, of Newark, suffering from an apparent Stab Wound. Mr. Gully was immediately transported to University Hospital where he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased around 9:21 p.m.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No Arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information regarding the Fatal Stabbing of Mr. Gully is urged to contact The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
