ESSEX COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING THE FATAL SHOOTING OF A NEWARK MAN

     " Police Are Searching For A Suspect In Connection To The Late Thursday Afternoon Fatal Shooting Of Rasheed Lee."

NEWARK, NJ.- On Saturday, February 4, 2023, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II announced that Members of The Essex County Homicide Task Force are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Fatal Shooting of a 35-Year-Old Newark, New Jersey man that occurred late Thursday Afternoon.

     On Thursday, February 2, 2023, at approximately 5:02 p.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to the area of The 100 Block of Avon Avenue in Newark on a report of a Shooting.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Rasheed Lee, 35, of Newark, New Jersey suffering from a Gunshot Wound. Mr. Lee was immediately transported to University Hospital, where on Friday, February 3, 2023, Mr. Lee succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at 5:34 p.m.
