HUDSON COUNTY AUTHORITIES CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE THE DEATH OF A MAN

BAYONNE, NJ.- On Sunday, January 29, 2023, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced that Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstance surrounding the Death of a Man who was discovered Friday afternoon on the shoreline of the Newark Bay in Bayonne, New Jersey.
On Friday, January 27, 2023, at around 2:30 p.m., Members of The Bayonne Police Department responded to Thomas W. Zito Apartments located on The 200 Block of Avenue A in Bayonne on a report of a Body being found on the Newark Bay Shoreline.
Upon arrival, Police Officers and Bayonne Fire Department Personnel discovered the lifeless body of a man on the shoreline behind a building located at 249 Avenue A. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene at 3:02 p.m.
The man has yet to be identified. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of The Regional Medical Examiner. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and Detectives of The Bayonne Police Department are actively investigating this incident.
