HUDSON COUNTY AUTHORITIES CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE SUNDAY'S AFTERNOON FATAL STABBING

     " 28-Year-Old Man Fatally Stabbed On Bostwick Avenue In Jersey City On Sunday Afternoon May 29, 2022."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Monday, May 30, 2022, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and The Jersey City Police Department continue to investigate a Fatal Stabbing that occurred on Sunday Afternoon, May 29, 2022.

     On Sunday, May 29, 2022, at approximately 1:53 p.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to the area of 112 Bostwick Avenue on a report of a Fight.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Jawon Purcell, 28, of Jersey City, having sustained Multiple Stab Wounds in the area of 112 Bostwick Avenue. Mr. Purcell was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene at 2:03 p.m.

     The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of The Regional Medical Examiner's Office.

     The Hudson County Homicide Unit and The Jersey City Police Department are actively the Homicide of Mr. Purcell. No Arrests have been made at this time.
