32 YEAR OLD BAYONNE MAN HAS BEEN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH YESTERDAY'S STABBING DEATH OF A BAYONNE WOMAN

BAYONNE, NJ.- In an apparent domestic dispute that turned violent, a 32-Year-Old Bayonne, New Jersey man has been Charged in yesterday's Stabbing Death of his wife.
On Thursday, March 3, 2022 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced, Members of The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit have Charged a Husband in connection with the Death of his Wife Mely Vanessa Tafoya Mendoza in Bayonne, New Jersey.
Peter Revelo, 32, of Bayonne, has been Charged with First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at approximately 11:58 a.m., Members of The Bayonne Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call for assistance to 105 North Street. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a woman, later identified as Mely Vanessa Tafoya Mendoza, 33, of Bayonne, New Jersey with an Apparent Stab Wound to her Chest. Ms. Mendoza had succumbed to her injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene at approximately 12:36 p.m. The Cause and Manner of death are pending the findings of The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
Mr. Revelo was taken into custody at the scene and Charged at The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City, New Jersey. Revelo was Processed on the Charges and remanded to The Hudson County Correctional Facility pending a First Appearance and Potential Detention Hearing which will be scheduled in Hudson County State Superior Court.
