HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY AFTER POLICE DISCOVER A PATERSON WOMAN DECEASED

PATERSON, NJ.- On Friday, February 25, 2022 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that on Friday, February 25, 2022, at approximately 7:56 a.m., Members of The Paterson Police Department responded to the area of James Street and Ryerson Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey in response to a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located the Lifeless Body of a female victim, later identified as Stephanie DeJesus, 38, of Paterson, New Jersey, Inside the Trunk of a Vehicle with an apparent Gunshot Wound. Ms. DeJesus was pronounced deceased on scene.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. More information may become available once released by authorities.
