Elizabeth School Teacher Charged

72 YEAR OLD ELIZABETH NEW JERSEY SCHOOL TEACHER CHARGED WITH THE SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A 14 YEAR OLD STUDENT 

     " Bipradas Mookerjee Of North Brunswick Charged With Criminal Sexual Contact & Endangering The Welfare Of A Child."

ELIZABETH, NJ.- On Monday, January 31, 2022 Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, Elizabeth Police Director Earl Graves and Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca announced an Elizabeth School Teacher has been Charged after having committed acts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor Student over the course of several months.



     Bipradas Mookerjee, 72, of North Brunswick, New Jersey has been Charged with Third Degree Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact; and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.


     In mid-January, The Elizabeth Police Department received a report of a Sexual Assault upon a 14-Year-Old Female Student, which was referred to The Union County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit, and investigation was initiated. The investigation revealed that the alleged Sexual incidents occurred from October of 2021 into January of 2022, while Mr. Mookerjee was employed as a Math Teacher at The Frank J. Cicarell Academy in Elizabeth, New Jersey, according to Assistant Prosecutor Caroline Lawlor who is representing The State in this matter.


     The 14-Year-Old female victim was a Student at the School at the time the Assaults, according to Lawlor.


     Mr. Mookerjee was Arrested and taken into Custody without incident on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 and Lodged in The Union County Jail. Mookerjee was subsequently released after a Pretrial Detention Hearing in Union County State Superior Court, and was placed on supervised release pending the resolution of the charges.
