BORDENTOWN CITY VOLUNTEER FIREMAN CHARGED WITH CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES

BORDENTOWN, NJ.- On Tuesday, February 14, 2022 Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Bordentown Township Police Chief Brian Pesce announced that a 36-Year-Old Bordentown Township, New Jersey man has been Charged with Possessing and Distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material.
Jay J. Howe, 36, of Bordentown Township, has been Charged with Two Counts of Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and One Count of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The Charges will be prepared for presentation to a Grand Jury for possible Indictment.
Mr. Howe, who is a Member of The Borden City Volunteer Fire Department, was Arrested on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 and lodged in The Burlington Jail in Mount Holly, New Jersey pending a Detention Hearing in Burlington County State Superior Court.
The investigation began in December 2021 after the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office High-Tech Crimes Unit received information regarding Mr. Howe’s Cyber Activities from The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The investigation determined that Mr. Howe was using an App to Send and Receive Videos containing Child Sexual Abuse Material.
