UNION COUNTY GRAND JURY RETURNS FOURTEEN COUNT SEX CRIMES INDICTMENT AGAINST CO-FOUNDER OF ROBOTICS LAB BASED IN SUMMIT

ELIZABETH, NJ.- On Thursday, January 13, 2022 Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Acting Summit Police Chief Steven Zagorski announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Union County, New Jersey has returned a Fourteen County Indictment against the Co-Founder of a Summit Based Robotics Laboratory on Charges of Sexual Crimes upon Six Students.
The Grand Jury has returned the Indictment Charging Christopher P. Marbaix, 60, with Five Counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child Under the Age of Thirteen; Six Counts of Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and Three Counts of Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Contact of a Child.
The Charges are the result of an investigation by Members of The Summit Police Department's Juvenile Detective Unit, in conjunction with The Union County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit. The investigation determined that on multiple occasions from September, 2015 through December, 2018, Mr. Marbaix allegedly inappropriately touched the Six Victims while they were under his Personal Instruction at Robot Revolution, when they were between the Ages of Nine and Fifteen.
Since filing the Charges against Mr. Marbaix in November of 2020, further investigation has led Detectives to file an Additional Six Charges in January, 2022, bringing the Total Victim Count from Three to Six and the total Charges against Mr. Marbaix from Eight to Fourteen.
Robot Revolution's Website describes the program as the Largest Robotics School in The State.

"The law enforcement agencies in Union County are dedicated to protecting the children of are community and the continued work during this joint investigation between the Prosecutor's Office and the Summit Police Department is a testament to that commitment.
