TRENTON WOMAN CHARGED WITH VEHICULAR HOMICIDE IN FATAL JUNE 2020 MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Wednesday, December 22, 2021 Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced that a Trenton, New Jersey has been Arrested and Charged in connection to a Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident that occurred in June 2020.
On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, Members of The Mercer County Homicide Task Force assisted in the Arrest of Taquaysha Bell, 29, at her home in Trenton, New Jersey. Ms. Bell has been Charged with Vehicular Homicide and Assault by Auto in connection to a Motor Vehicle Crash that occurred on June 19, 2020 on the White Horse Pike in Hammonton, New Jersey that claimed the life of a 53-Year-Old Mays Landing Man.
Following Ms. Bell's Arrest, she was turned over to Detectives from The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Investigation Unit and The Hammonton Police Department for processing.
On June 19, 2020, Ms. Bell was traveling Westbound on The White Horse Pike when she entered the oncoming lane and struck a vehicle operated by Michael Luko of Mays Landing, New Jersey. Mr. Luko, 53, who was an Officer with The New Jersey Human Services Police Department was traveling home after completing his shift.
Mr. Luko was immediately transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
