Morristown New Jersey Man Charged

MORRISTOWN MAN HAS BEEN CHARGED IN A SERIES OF SEXUAL ASSAULTS AGAINST FOUR VICTIMS

     " Ruben Gonzalez Charged In Connection An Eleven Month Series Of Sexual Assaults Involving 4 Victims Ages 14 Years Old To Eighteen Years Old."

MORRISTOWN, NJ.- On Thursday, December 23, 2021 Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph K. Kimker, Morris Township Police Chief Mark DiCarlo, and Morristown Police Chief Darnell Richardson announced that Charges have been filed against Ruben Gonzalez, 19, of Morristown, New Jersey.


     The Charges are in connection with alleged Serial Sexual Assaults that occurred between December 2020 and November 2021. A subsequent investigation revealed Four different Victims whose Ages range from Fourteen to Eighteen. The Sexual Assaults occurred in Morris Township and Morristown, New Jersey.


     Upon Mr. Gonzalez's Arrest and following the issuance of a Court Authorized Search Warrant, a subsequent analysis of the Mr. Gonzalez's cell phone identified several Videos depicting the Sexual Exploitation of Children.


     Mr. Gonzalez has been Charged with One Count of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault on a Physically Helpless Victim; Eight Counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault; Three Counts of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; Seven Counts of Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Contact; and One Count of Third Degree Possession of Child Pornography.


     If Convicted on the Charges, Mr. Gonzalez faces a Potential term of incarceration of Life in New Jersey State Prison.


     Mr. Gonzalez is currently in the custody of The Morris County Correctional Facility following a Detention Hearing, in Morris County Superior Court.
