MILLVILLE, NJ.- On Friday, November 12, 2021 Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae and Millville Police Chief Jody Farabella announced the Arrest of Brandon Dennis, wanted in connection with the Fatal Shooting of Patrick Trotter.
On Saturday, October 23, 2021, The Millville Police Department – Criminal Investigations Division and The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office – Major Crimes Unit investigated the Shooting Death of Patrick Trotter, 32, of Penns Grove, New Jersey in the 500 Block of West Main Street in the City of Millville.
As a result of the investigation Charges were filed against Brandon Dennis, 29, for Murder, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Aggravated Assault, Certain Persons, Criminal Mischief, Burglary, Desecration and Terroristic Threats, Obstruction, and Hindering Apprehension.
Members of Law Enforcement, assigned to The United States Marshals Service, New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force, engaged in efforts to locate and Arrest Mr. Dennis.
On Friday, November 12, 2021, Mr. Dennis was located in Bridgeton, New Jersey and taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service and New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of Detectives from The Millville Police Department and The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Mr. Dennis was subsequently turned over to The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, where he was then lodged in The Cumberland County Jail pending court procedures. The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office will File a Motion for Pretrial Detention which will be heard in Superior Court.
