TWO NEW BRUNSWICK CITY MEN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE ELECTION DAY FATAL SHOOTING OF A FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP MAN

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ.- On Monday, November 15, 2021 Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony A. Caputo announced that two men have been Charged in connection with the Murder of Lorenzo Hill Staten, 32, of Franklin Township, New Jersey.
On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at approximately 8:12 p.m., Members of The New Brunswick Police Department responded to the area of Seaman Street and Remsen Avenue on a report of a Shooting.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found Mr. Hill Staten who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Hill Staten was immediately transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
A subsequent investigation conducted by Detective Keith Walcott of The New Brunswick Police Department in conjunction with Detective Mark Morris of The Middlesex Prosecutor's Office determined that Jhon German-Suarez, 24, and Wendis Rodriguez-Quiles, 31, both of New Brunswick, New Jersey conspired to Shoot and Ultimately Kill Mr. Hill Staten.
In the early morning hours of Monday, November 15, 2021, Members of The New Brunswick Police Department, New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit, The U.S. Marshals New York/ New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office apprehended Mr. German-Suarez and Mr. Rodriguez-Quiles in The Bronx, New York.
Mr. German-Suarez has been Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder and One Count of Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
Mr. Rodriguez-Quiles has been Charged with One Count of First Degree Conspiracy to Commit Murder; One Count of First Degree Murder; and One Count of Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
Both German-Suarez and Rodriguez-Quiles are currently being detained in New York, pending Extradition to New Jersey where both men will be lodged in The Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending their first appearance and Pretrial Detention Hearing in Middlesex County Superior Court.
