Newark New Jersey Man Sentenced

NEWARK MAN SENTENCED TO STATE PRISON FOR MARCH 2020 KEARNY NEW JERSEY FATAL COLLISION

     " William Frazier Of Newark Sentenced To 5 Years In New Jersey State Prison For Driving While Intoxicated In A Collision That Claimed The Life Of Vance Caswell."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced, on Thursday, November 18, 2021, The Honorable John A. Young, Jr., J.S.C. Sentenced William Frazier, 54, of Newark, New Jersey to Five Years in New Jersey State Prison for Death By Auto for Driving While Intoxicated in connection to the Death of Vance Caswell which occurred on March 13, 2020 in Kearny, New Jersey. 



     The Sentence is subject to The No Early Release Act which requires Mr. Frazier to serve 85 percent of his Five Year Sentence before becoming Eligible for Parole the Sentence also includes a Consecutive 10-Year Driver’s License Suspension.


     Mr. Frazier was additionally Sentenced to a Consecutive Twelve Months in New Jersey State Prison for Assault By Auto for Driving While Intoxicated for causing Bodily Injury to a second victim, and a Two-Year Driver’s License Suspension and $500 fine for Motor Vehicle Summonses for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. Mr. Frazier Pleaded Guilty to the offenses on September 30, 2021. 


     The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit, with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department, investigated the case.
