CAMDEN, NJ.- On Thursday, November 4, 2021 Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez announced that a Fugitive wanted for his role in a Camden, New Jersey Homicide has been Arrested in The Commonwealth of Virginia.
Michael Allen, 19, of Collingswood, New Jersey was taken into custody by Members of The U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force at a residence in Newport News, Virginia.
Mr. Allen was formally Charged on Friday, October 29, 2021, with One Count of First Degree Murder in connection with the Fatal Shooting of Lamont Demby, 28, of Camden, New Jersey.
On Friday, October 22, 2021, at approximately 3:21 p.m., Members of The Camden County Police Department responded to the area of Jackson and Warsaw Streets in The City on a report of a Shooting.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found Mr. Demby who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Demby was immediately transported to Cooper University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased at 4:11 p.m. the same day.
Mr. Allen is presently incarcerated in Virginia, pending an extradition hearing and his return to New Jersey.
