Arrests Made In Ewing Homicide

TWO ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE MONDAY NOVEMBER 22 2021 FATAL SHOOTING OF A EWING MAN

     " Tyshawn Smith & Brianne Novak Of Ewing, New Jersey Have Been Charged In Connection To The Fatal Shooting Of Mark Hudson, Jr. Of Ewing."

EWING, NJ.- On Monday, November 29, 2021 Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced that an investigation conducted by The Mercer County Homicide Task Force has resulted in Charges being filed against Two Ewing Township, New Jersey residents in connection to last weeks Fatal Shooting of Mark Hudson, Jr. of Ewing, New Jersey.


     Tyshawn Smith, 23, of Ewing has been Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Brianne Novak, 21, of Ewing has been Charged with Hindering Apprehensions for providing False Information to Investigators. 


     Both Smith and Novak were Arrested at their residences on Saturday, November 27, 2021 by Members of The Mercer County Tactical Responses Team. Both Smith and Novak were processed on the offenses. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has filed a Motion for Pretrial Detention for Mr. Smith.


     On Monday, November 22, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Members of The Ewing Police Department responded to a residence on the 200 Block of Douglas Avenue on a report of a Shooting. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim, later identified as Mark Hudson, Jr., who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and his left hand. Mr. Hudson was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
