THREE PATERSON NEW JERSEY TEENS ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE OCTOBER 7, 2021 FATAL SHOOTING DEATH OF A PATERSON MAN

PATERSON, NJ.- On Saturday, October 16, 2021 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced that based upon an investigation by the Paterson Police Department, in conjunction with The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the United States Secret Service, Jaylen Jacobs, 19, Shamier Moore, 19, and Khamere C. Chambers, 18, all from Paterson, were arrested on Friday, October 15, 2021 in connection to the homicide that took place on October 7, 2021, at 312 Hamilton Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey.
Mr. Jacobs, Mr. Moore, and Mr. Chambers are each Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Handgun.
On Thursday, October 7, 2021, at approximately 2:56 p.m., Members of The Paterson Police Department responded to the area of 312 Hamilton Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located the victim, Khalid Lisbon, 27, of Paterson, New Jersey lying on the sidewalk in front of 312 Hamilton Avenue with apparent gunshot wounds.
Paterson Police Officers immediately began providing medical attention to the victim, and a short time later medical personnel arrived and immediately transported Mr. Lisbon to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
An ensuing investigation determined that Mr. Jacobs Shot and Killed Mr. Lisbon and was aided by Mr. Moore and Mr. Chambers. Mr. Jacobs and Mr. Moore were apprehended in the morning on Friday, October 15, 2021 at an apartment in Paterson, New Jersey and Mr. Chambers was apprehended in the evening of Friday, October 15, 2021 at his residence in Paterson, New Jersey.
The Arrests were made without incident by Members of The Paterson Police Department, The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the United States Secret Service.
The crime of Murder has a sentencing range from a Minimum of Thirty Years up to Life Imprisonment; the crimes of Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, both have a sentencing range of Five to Ten Years in Prison with Forty-Two Months to be served before parole eligibility.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has filed motions against all three defendants for pretrial detention that will be heard by a Superior Court Judge.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information may become available, once released by authorities.
