BROWNS MILL, NJ.- On Tuesday, October 19, 2021 Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Pemberton Township Police Chief David King announced that a 17 Year-Old Male was Fatally Shot last night in the 100 block of Snow Avenue in Browns Mills, New Jersey.
A 17-Year-Old, Female, was also Shot in the same incident and is expected to survive.
On Monday, October 18, 2021, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Members of The Pemberton Township Police Department responded to a residence in the 100 Block of Snow Avenue in Browns Mill on a report of a Shooting.
Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered Malachi Treherne, 17, of Pemberton, lying in the doorway of the residence at which he was staying on Snow Avenue. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police Officers further located the 17 year-old Female, who had been Shot in the chest. She was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey where she is listed in stable condition.
The Preliminary Investigation indicates that this incident was a targeted shooting. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information that might be helpful to investigators is asked to call Burlington County Central Communications at 609-265-7113.
The investigation is being conducted by Detectives from the Pemberton Township Police Department and The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office. The lead investigators are Prosecutor’s Office Detective Erica Ridge and Pemberton Township Detective Anthony Luster.
