JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Friday, October 29, 2021 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced, The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has Arrested and Charged Eugene Williams, 25, of Jersey City, New Jersey in the Death of a 49-Year-Old Woman.
Mr. Williams was Arrested at approximately 12:30 p.m., Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 117 Van Nostrand Avenue in Jersey City and has been Charged with Second Degree Manslaughter.
On Friday, October 1, 2021, at approximately 12:54 a.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to 112 Bergen Avenue on a report of an unconscious female on the ground. Upon arrival, Police Officers found an unresponsive female, later identified as Shannon T. Johnson, lying face down on the sidewalk.
The victim was immediately transported to The Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey where she was listed in critical condition. On Wednesday, October 7, 2021, Ms. Johnson succumbed to her injury and was pronounced deceased at 5:05 p.m. The Regional Medical Examiner determined the Cause of Death to be Blunt Impact Injuries of the head and neck and the Manner of Death to be Homicide.
