MORRIS COUNTY AUTHORITIES CONFIRM FATAL HOUSE FIRE INVESTIGATION

EAST HANOVER, NJ.- On Thursday, October 21, 2021 Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker, and Chief Christopher F. Cannizzo of the East Hanover Police Department confirm the investigation of a fire occurring on Ward Place, in East Hanover, New Jersey on October 21, 2021.
On Thursday, October 21, 2021, at approximately 12:09 a.m., Members of The East Hanover Police Department and Fire Officials responded to Ward Place on a report of a residential fire. Responders located an active fire to a single-family dwelling.
The investigation determined that the origin of the fire was within a bedroom of the residence. Two residents were safely removed from the residence. A third resident was located deceased inside the home. The identity of the residents and the deceased individual have not been released.
The cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature and The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office does not anticipate any criminal charges being filed.
