WAYNE, NJ.- On Friday, September 10, 2021 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, Wayne Police Chief Jack McNiff, and South Hackensack Police Chief Joseph Terraccino announced that based upon an investigation by The Wayne Police Department, Robert Jackson, 33, of South Hackensack, New Jersey, was arrested on September 7, 2021, in connection with a shooting investigation that took place Sunday, September 5, 2021, in the area of Mountainview Boulevard and Parish Drive in Wayne, New Jersey.
Robert Jackson has been Charged with Three Counts of First Degree Attempted Murder; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Handgun; Three Counts of Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons.
On Sunday, September 5, 2021, at approximately 2:10 a.m., Members of The Wayne Police Department responded to the area of Mountainview Boulevard and Parish Drive in Wayne, New Jersey on a report of shots fired.
Based on the investigation it was determined that a gunman fired a handgun several times in the direction of a 20-Year-Old Male Budd Lake, New Jersey resident, a 22-Year-Old Male Westfield, New Jersey resident, and a 19-Year-Old Male Sprint Lake, New Jersey resident. The victims were not injured during the incident. The suspect fled the area in a motor vehicle following the shooting.
Robert Jackson was identified as the shooter and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at approximately 10:03 p.m., members of the Wayne Police Department and the South Hackensack Police Department arrested Robert Jackson in the area of Grove Street and Phillips Avenue in South Hackensack, New Jersey.
The State has filed a motion for pretrial detention that will be heard September 13, 2021, before the Honorable Marilyn C. Clark, J.S.C.
