Burlington City Man Charged

BURLINGTON CITY MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER IN SUNDAY MORNING KNIFE ATTACK

     " Terrell Dennis Of Burlington City, New Jersey Has Been Charged With Attempted Murder & Weapons Offenses In Connection With Knife Attack On September 19, 2021."

BURLINGTON CITY, NJ.-  On Monday, September 20, 2021  Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Burlington City Police Chief John Fine announced that a 39-year-old city resident has been Charged with Stabbing a man in the neck yesterday morning inside a residence on Linden Avenue in Burlington City, New Jersey.



     Terrell Dennis, 39, of  Burlington City, was charged with First Degree Attempted Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.


     Mr. Dennis was arrested Sunday evening in Camden, New Jersey and lodged in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly. A detention hearing will be held later this week. 


     The investigation began after Members of Burlington City Police Department were called to the residence at approximately 7:00 a.m., on Sunday, September 19, 2021 on a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 28-Year-Old Victim, who had sustained stab wound in the from kitchen knife. He was taken to a Trenton hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. 


     The investigation quickly identified Mr. Dennis as a suspect. The motive for the stabbing continues to be investigated.


     Mr. Dennis will be prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Bob Van Gilst, supervisor of the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit Violent Crimes Section. The investigation was conducted by The Prosecutor’s Office and The Burlington City Police Department, with assistance from The NJ Transit Police Department. The lead investigators are Burlington County Prosecutor's Office Detective Erica Ridge and Burlington City Police Department Detective Corporal Anna Czajka.
