Atlantic County Fatal Pedestrian Accident

ATLANTIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE ARE INVESTIGATING A FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT OCCURRING SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2021

     "Atlantic County Crash Investigations Unit Investigating The Circumstances Surrounding A Saturday Hammonton Fatal Accident That Claimed The Life Of Jersey City Woman."

HAMMONTON, NJ.- On Sunday, September 12, 2021 Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary S. Shill announced The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Crash Investigations Unit and The Hammonton Police Department are investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday evening on The White Horse Pike, where a pedestrian was struck and killed.


     On Saturday evening, September 11, 2021, Members of The Hammonton Police Department responded to a pedestrian motor vehicle crash on The White Horse Pike, just west of Central Avenue.


     The preliminary investigation revealed that a Black Dodge Ram Pickup Truck, operated by, Jeffrey Dooner, 55, of Margate, New Jersey, was travelling west on The White Horse Pike and was crossing the intersection of Central Avenue. At which time, a pedestrian, Nancy Martinez, 60, of Jersey City, New Jersey was walking across The White Horse Pike when she was struck by Mr. Dooner.


     Ms. Martinez was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time.
